New SOCIB “CANALES” cruises BGC datasets available in SeaDataNet and Emodnet chemistry

The Balearic Islands Coastal Observing and Forecasting System (SOCIB) is pleased to announce the availability of the historical biogeochemistry laboratory data (from 2014 to 2021) of a total of 23 “CANALES” cruises (553 stations): Seasonal hydrographic study of the Balearic Sea and monitoring of the Ibiza and Mallorca Channels, consisting of water samples of dissolved oxygen, Chlorophyll-a, and nutrients (nitrate, nitrite, and phosphate). Access and more information regarding the data is available from SeaDataNet and Emodnet chemistry web pages under the text SOCIB_ENL_Canales in the free search input field.

The 23 CSR (CRUISE SUMMARY REPORTS) are also available and linked to the previous data, providing summary information of each cruise and the link to the SOCIB repository where to find the official report, as well as the data directories in the SOCIB THREDDS catalog (instrument data from e.g., CTD, GPS, METEO, ADCP, and THERMOSAL). Information on drifters released if any is also included.
