The In Situ TAC is the only in situ observational component of the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service.
In other words: The In Situ TAC integrates thousand of local data from on-site sensors on board of a wide range of platforms in order to deliver products to the CMEMS catalog (16 so far)
In Situ Production Units (PUs) are responsible for collecting and standarizing data on a defined geographical area.
In Situ observations are stored in netCDF files, grouped in collections/datasets and delivered all together as products:
