The SOCIB 920 Hurricane ZODIAC is now fully operational

The SOCIB 920 Hurricane ZODIAC is a key facility mainly linked to Gliders Facility (deployment and recovery) and Fixed Stations Facility (installation and maintenance), but also it's a key element for all SOCIB in sea operations. The construction of the SOCIB 920 Hurricane ZODIAC was carried out at Vancouver Zodiac installations. The hull and the cabin are constructed of reinforced aluminum, it's equiped with two powerful Volvo engines (2x225 HP) and it is able to sail at 25 knots cruising speed, allowing rapid response capabilities for glider operations in the Balearic Sea. The cabin allows a crew of 3/4 persons and a small warehouse/lab space for in mission glider tracking, operation, repair, etc.
