An important representation of SOCIB and IMEDEA (CSIC-UIB) teams participated in the European Geosciences Union 2014 Assembly held in Vienna (Austria), April 27th-May 2nd. Presentations focused on the present status, advances and scientific results from SOCIB multi-platform approach, the activities from different SOCIB Facilities (including among others, data centre, gliders, HF radar, and modelling), the specific advances in operational capabilities, the implications of AIS studies and their relevance for MSFD, as well as on key process oriented studies associated with water masses formation, mesoscale instabilities and associated vertical motions and variability at different spatial and temporal scales.
