Barbaria Station

The primary objective of the Weather Station, situated in Cap Barbaria (Formentera), is to deliver the six most critical weather parameters (wind speed, wind direction, air temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and rainfall) in near real-time for the continuous observation of local meteorological conditions. This weather station, in conjunction with a webcam that offers a real-time visual overview of sea conditions, is utilized to assess the performance of the High-Frequency Radar (HFR) system.

Furthermore, an Automatic Identification System (AIS) antenna has been installed to provide real-time data on the identification, position, course, and speed of vessels.

The station is supported by the Planta de tansferencia de residuos de Formentera and the Consell Insular de Formentera.
