Parc Bit Station

The main purpose of the weather station located in Parc Bit (Mallorca) is to deliver real-time data on weather conditions near the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). Operating independently, the station provides immediate readings of atmospheric variables, including wind direction and speed, air temperature, and atmospheric pressure, among others.

Furthermore, an AIS (Automatic Identification System) antenna has been installed to offer real-time data on ship’s identification, position, course, and speed.

The Parc Bit weather station is a crucial component of SOCIB's network of fixed stations throughout the Balearic Islands, encompassing coastal stations, tide gauges, and oceanographic buoys.
