CMEMS INSTAC Training Activities by SOCIB and partners (HCMR and PE)
SOCIB (Charles Troupin) participated to the two Regional Users Training Workshops organized in the frame of CMEMS (Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service), where SOCIB is responsible for the Training activities of the In Situ part of the service. The main goal was to describe the existing multi-platform observing systems, illustrate the relative scarcity of in situ data to capture all the relevant scales, and finally to underline the importance of quality control and quality flags assigned to the observations.
The first workshop was dedicated to the Mediterranean Sea and took place in La Spezia from 3 to 4 December, with participation of HCMR (Antonis Chalkiopoulos). SOCIB was featured in the Case Studies Session, where users were invited to describe applications based on data and products obtained from CMEMS. The second workshop was dedicated to the IBI area and took place in Lisboa from 10 to 11 December, with participation of Puertos del Estado (Fernando Manzano Muñoz, Pablo Lorente and Marcos García Sotillo).
Both workshops were attended by approximatively 100 people, made up of small & medium companies, researchers and students.
