David March joins the SIAS team at SOCIB to work on the KnowSeas Project
David March, a PhD candidate specialized in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), has joined the SIAS team at SOCIB to develop a geospatial decision-making tool for the KnowSeas Project, an FP7 project initiated in 2009. SOCIB is working with the CSIC partner on the KnowSeas project, which has the overall objective of generating a comprehensive scientific knowledge base and practical guidance for the application of the Ecosystem Approach to the sustainable development of Europe’s regional seas.
He has a BSc in Biology (University of Balearic Islands, 2005), and a MSc in Geographic Information Systems (University of Girona, 2008). He is currently finishing his PhD entitled “Geospatial applications for the management of recreational fisheries” (Mediterranean Institute of Advanced Studies).
